Welcome to the (VxPxC) and (VxPxC) related distro space... All releases are limited in number, so please contact us if you want any particular release... we'll update as often as humanly possible... Prices vary, and we'll let you know the total when you email... tentonrecords(at)hotmail.com
(VxPxC) - Porchmass CD - released on Digitalis we got some advance copies of this little gem at the Bottled Smoke festival... Man, did it come out nice! Tim's altered landscape photo and over-the-top handlettered art really sets this one off... one of our more chilled out sessions, acoustics and broken electronics combined... also Justin's first day with his accordion... beginner's luck!
(VxPxC) - Chinatown Nose-Cut CD-r - released on Dead Sea Liner (UK) Sometimes you mail something off and never expect anything to happen... but sometimes you send something out and it gets the royal frickin' treatment. Alan Upton really did a number on this release and we have a few left out of this limited batch... As always, check with him before us. One of the three releases culled from the same session, this is the step-sister to the Reticent to Manifest Tape and the brand new cassette on Buried Valley ("Twelve Divided by Three")
(VxPxC) - "Twelve Divided by Three" cassette c20 on Buried Valley Roy from Changeling and the lovely label Buried Valley is luckily right down the street, so expect some big things to happen between the lot of us in the upcoming months... but for now, this little 20 minute cassette collects some of the weirder moments from a pretty lengthy (VxPxC) recording session. Graced with the mythical jackalope, this beautiful little cassette (our second such cassette release) will give you a little insight into our musical chaos.
(VxPxC) - "Reticent to Manifest" cassette c40 on Abandon Ship Records You never forget your first whatever... and this is definitely the case with this giftwrapped cassette, lovingly created by Nate Rulli, the best guy in NYC right now. Color coded to our typical pansy purple, this 40 minute mindbender got us some of our best reviews yet, so something must have worked inside of its beer and whisky filled musical cells.
(VxPxC) - The Last Days of... CD-r - released on Foxglove Back in the day, after our lovely Wailing Bones track surfaced, we were fortunate to put out some music on Brad Rose's CD-r label. This collection of tracks is pretty heavy on the singing side of us, noisy and full of guttural sorrows and angry stomachs. Beautiful nonetheless.
(VxPxC) - Devoid of Karma CD-r - released on Music Your Mind Will Love You (Australia) Somehow, we just keep putting out stuff, and this one is a good twin sister to "The Last Days of...", because it has some heavy duty banshee wails on it as well... A series of ballads sung to evil astronomical powers, this album was a tribute also to our ongoing friendship and kinship with Michael Donnelly, head of MYMWLY and stunning musician in his own right.
Thousands - "Overflow'd and Gush'd Out" CD-r on Foxglove Usually, I am not a big fan of supergroups, but this is one that deserves special attention... I mean, we got four dudes making a huge racket, backed by a drummer and a bass player making even more racket... a heavenly cacophony of rhythmic bliss, tinged with some dark ambient and broken jazz. Very lengthy tracks, bordering on jams, taking you on a ride into tomorrow. Thousands contains the members of (VxPxC), Fantastic Ego, Antique Brothers, and even more bands, too numerous to list.
Sleepwalkers Local 242 - "Dreamlands" CD-r released on House of Alchemy Adam Richards is probably the most creative man in independent music, at least the most open-minded in terms of releases... and it has paid off with some amazing things, like the new Stone Baby, and this little intricately packaged gem from yours truly... "Dreamlands" is a slight departure from the Sleepwalkers sound of Low-esque guitars and sleepy beats... now all of that is channelled through some massive computer and guitar pedal processing and amped up to the nth degree... it works well with the cliche phrase - "I'll sleep when I am dead"... these are the dreams of the dead.
(VxPxC) - "Lizard in the Spring" cd-r on Tape Drift Records At first it seems light and sweet, all keyboards and chiming guitars, but this bruiser turns evil with a quickness... Like a dark heat, smoldering into an oily smoke fire... Definitely a label to keep an eye on, and easily one of our favorite releases.
(VxPxC) - "Struggling with Heavy Clouds " cd-r on Blackest Rainbow Channeling some dark carnival dreams, mixed with pills and rum... this little gem took a while to grow and even changed formats on us, but we love it nonetheless... Striking artwork by the young and talented Darryl Norsen as well.. good stuff.
